Lithuanian Discussion Festival “Exactly!“. The Song of Discord
All client jobsGay rights? Mass vaccination? Cannabis legalisation? In Lithuania, these and other hot issues too often end not in dialogue, but in insults and labels. To highlight just how divided we have become – and to promote Lithuania’s upcoming Discussion Festival – we launched a campaign.
Each campaign poster tackled a controversial topic and revealed the stereotypes that opposing sides throw at each other instead of engaging in real arguments. The posters were illustrated in a linocut style, a technique with a long tradition in Lithuania and strong ties to folklore.
Inspired by “sutartinės,” Lithuania’s unique multipart songs whose name means “songs of accord,” we also created “The Song of Discord”. It’s a sutartinė-style piece in which singers voice some of the country’s most common disagreements today.
The campaign’s message was simple: replace hostility with open discussion, because it’s the only path to learn to get along.
